Our Story

Our story is one that portrays the sovereignty and goodness of our Lord. The Lord started the Siouxland Community Bible Church in the Summer of 1999 in our Pastor's home in South Sioux City, NE with only one other family. Our Pastor, Richard Peralez, has a burden for the church in America and specifically the Siouxland Area. Pastor Peralez, working with a church planting mission,

The American Mission for Opening Churches, planted the Siouxland Community Bible Church, which is a non-denominational independent Bible church. The burden was for a church that: teaches that salvation is completely of the Lord and only through the Lord Jesus Christ, staunchly believes in the sufficiency and lordship of Christ, teaches the Bible verse by verse, non-charismatic, and not swayed by every new fad or theological shift that hits the church. A church with the following distinctions:

A Focused Ministry: All of who we are and what we do is for God's Glory. A Christ Centered Ministry: Following Christ as revealed in Scripture. A Doctrinally Minded Ministry: Sound Bible Doctrine proclaimed without compromise or apology. A Compassionate Ministry: A concern for fellow believers and a concern for the lost. (Proclaiming the gospel to all, while understanding that salvation from initiation to completion is by God's grace alone. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone!

We prayed knowing that Christ will have to be the one to provide and build His Church. Our God is sovereign and sufficient. He has shown Himself as such over and over again. In May of 2000, the Lord raised other like-minded churches and people to help us purchase our current building for only $65,000, with over 1/3 given as a down payment. Our goal is to be completely debt free as soon as possible. The Lord has made that a very attainable goal. Not only that but God has raised people to help renovate the church and make it useful for His glory! In a year, the value of our church and its beauty has been raised considerably. The Lord has truly blessed us. We have literally hundreds of people across America praying for the church in South Sioux City. We are growing one family at a time by His grace and for His glory. We are a very young church. Some of the families come faithfully from approx. 40 miles away. All are growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have a desire for the church to grow in greater numbers, but numbers are not what drives us. The glory of God is what fuels our passion for the ministry. We are not interested in growing fast through man's wisdom and might, rather we are very content to grow one family at a time by God's grace and for His glory. We may never be the biggest church in town, but that is ok. We want to be a church that is faithful. The Lord will build His church better than we could anyway. CHRIST WILL BUILD HIS CHURCH! The only way a hand fulfill of people could accomplish so much in such a short time is because the Lord is doing the work. Christ gets all the credit and glory.
